technology research

There is so many ways to film in the modern era as technology is advancing rapidly giving of great results which is helping the media industry. Here are some great results I found.

Drone

Drones are used in a lot of films today to mainly capture helicopter and Birdseye view. This is great as it saves a lot of expense and saves you actually hiring a helicopter which will be very expensive. Drones also come equipped with many different types of lenses which are quite interesting.

Modern drones are capable of flying up to 100mph while recording up to 6K RAW footage which is excellent as all you are doing is controlling the drone from the ground and having fun flying it getting the shots you need.

A lot of drones are small and can be carried in a bag which is excellent as they also are very light and not heavy at all. Most drones are cheap and can be bought from a price range of 80 pound to 1000 it all depends on the lens and quality of the drone.

Also most drones come with an app which links to the phone and you use your phone to see the footage the drone has taken or is taken during the process. This will benefit you as you can land the drone and review the footage there and then also there is certain apps which you can edit and cut clips out which is quite good as you can do that once the drone is landed.

My work

This would help me a lot in my documentary as I can get something known as a Birdseye view shot which is quite useful as you get a over view of the area. Also this would be great for a chase scene through a building as the drone moves really quick and these types of shots I need for my documentary as it will create a lot of action and suspense.

Here is a great example of an app.

 Airmap

A must-have for every drone pilot. Whether you’re a commercial or recreational drone photographer, AirMap will have the right features for you.

Some of the more advanced features include drone mapping, geo-fencing and flight logging. Even if you’re a beginner and have no use for them, the app’s location-based flight restriction info is vital for everyone with a drone.

AirMap has information about UAV laws in over 20 countries. This is especially useful for drone photographers who like to travel.

AirMap can also be set to control DJI drones, allowing pilots to map out flight paths and control their drone from inside the app.

360 cameras

The world has developed that well that we now have something  called a 360 camera which records the full surroundings of the room and gives of a 360 view of the environment which is being recorded. These can be quite expensive to buy as they are about 300 pound due to the quality of the footage you will get. However these 360 cameras can be pocket size and very easy to carry.
